Results and Conclusion

The above table is the data received from the 3 sensors used in this project. As illustrated above, there was no reading from the GPS sensor (Speed, Latitude, Longitude, and Elevation) this is due to a faulty antenna. The voltage and current readings are from the axial flux alternator. 

 

In conclusion, an axial flux alternator would be a good addition to electric bikes. With some modifications to the one we in our project, the alternator would be a sustainable way to recharge the battery of the bike. The first modification is to include more magnets and coils to create a stronger voltage. The second modification is to have a switch to turn the alternator on and off. When the bike needs to slow down, you would want to switch the alternator on, and when the bike is accelerating, the switch should be turned off. Through a better GPS sensor, we would be able to see the positive effects of these modifications.
